Jadłonomia po polsku
Cover, illustration design, endpapers, and art direction were crafted for the first Polish book on traditional vegan cuisine, aiming to create a publication as unique as its content. Inspired by Polish culinary traditions, the design subtly references the Polish School of Illustration and Poster Art from the 1960s–1980s, as well as Łowicz folk art. The illustrations, made entirely by hand, follow techniques of classic drawing masters, adding authenticity and warmth. The color palette is deliberately minimal, aligning with the book’s navigation system while maintaining visual coherence. The typography further roots the design in Polish heritage: Ludovic Balland’s typeface is based on Marek Sigmund’s 1975 design for road sign lettering, originally commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Transportation. This collaboration with Olek Modzelewski (graphic design) results in a work that celebrates Polish tradition while delivering modern appeal, making the book a distinctive addition to culinary literature.
