The book "Writing Is Just an Addition. Correspondence 1946–2011" presents two significant figures in 20th-century Polish literature and culture. On one side is Tadeusz Różewicz, a renowned and widely translated Polish writer, often considered alongside Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska as a leading Polish contender for the Nobel Prize in Literature. On the other is Mieczysław Porębski, also a writer but primarily an esteemed art critic, a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, a professor at the Jagiellonian University since 1970, and a curator at the National Museum in Kraków from 1974. Honored with the Gdynia Literary Award in 2012 for his book "Meeting with Abel", Porębski was a cultural authority. Their collected letters chronicle a deep friendship between two intellectuals and cultural figures, offering insights into art, literature, and socio-political issues. The correspondence also holds literary value, enriched with poetic texts, drawings, photographs, press clippings, and theatre programs.
