The publication accompanying Tony Cragg's exhibition at the State Art Gallery in Sopot explores his approach to sculpture as a study of how material and form influence our ideas and emotions. Cragg emphasizes that he is not concerned with mimetic tendencies to reproduce or imitate but with creating new, unknown forms limited only by creative imagination. His works, including the "Early Forms" and "Rational Beings" series, are marked by dynamism and vitality, transforming everyday objects into new forms that evoke fresh relationships, meanings, and emotional reactions. His sculptures do not mimic nature but explore why we perceive and exist the way we do. The exhibition showcases his glass sculptures, installations, drawings, and sculptures in Sopot’s North Park.
