*T-Club* by Libuše Jarcovjáková presents photographs from 1983–85, capturing life in the legendary LGBTQ bar in Prague. This groundbreaking book offers an intimate look at the underground LGBTQ community during Czechoslovakia's 1980s totalitarian regime, marking the first comprehensive visual record of T-Club. While the communist dictatorship slightly eased in the early 1980s, allowing spaces like T-Club to exist, the LGBTQ community still faced discrimination and surveillance. Despite homosexuality being decriminalized in 1961, fears of arrest for "gross indecency" and societal rejection persisted, fueled by the omnipresent State Security Service (StB). T-Club, located near the StB headquarters on Bartolomějská Street, became a haven for self-expression and connection. Jarcovjáková, a regular visitor, captured this resilience and defiance through her lens.
