Strajk
Rafał Milach’s Strajk is a collaborative project combining photography with texts by visual culture researchers, journalists, and activists, including Iwona Kurz, Karolina Gembara, and Aleksandra Boćkowska. The book's cover design, created by Ola Jasionowska—known for the Women's Strike visual identity and its iconic red lightning—emphasizes its interventionist and solidarity-driven nature. A portion of the proceeds supports organizations fighting for women’s rights. The publication captures the diversity of gazes present during Poland's protests, which erupted on October 22, 2020, following a controversial court ruling. Karolina Gembara describes photography as the “interpenetration of gazes” and reflects on the political spectacle unfolding in the streets. Aleksandra Boćkowska shares personal stories of protest participants from places like Kartuzy, Lubaczów, Warsaw, and Krakow.
