The book's focus is on Polish publishing houses, revealing not only their organizational and commercial aspects but also the personal stories of the people behind them. It discusses the specialists and visionaries who, while building the People's Republic of Poland, confronted its totalitarianism. Interviews with seven graphic designers who worked in publishing houses during the Polish People's Republic are also included. The book, featuring contributions from experts and bibliophiles, fills a significant gap in Poland's cultural history.
