“Sacred Defence” is Wawrzyniec Kolbusz’s debut monographic photo book, in which the author has created a multi-layered visual essay on Iran through selected aspects of its iconography. The photographs at first glance resemble a classic documentary project, but in fact the book as a whole deals with illusion, simulation and simulacra, and is firmly based on the ideas of Jean Baudrillard and other social philosophers. The front and back covers were designed using italic reflective lettering, emphasizing the aspects touched upon by Kolbusz in his work.
„Sacred Defense” to debiut monograficzny ze zdjęciami Wawrzyńca Kolbusza, który stworzył wielowarstwowy wizualny esej o Iranie przez pryzmat wybranych aspektów jego ikonografii. Fotografie na pierwszy rzut oka przypominają klasyczny projekt dokumentalny, ale cała książka zajmuje się iluzją, symulacją oraz symulakrami i jest mocno oparta na ideach Jeana Baudrillarda i innych filozofów społecznych. Projektantka zdecydowała się zaprojektować przednią i tylną okładkę w typografii lustrzanej, aby podkreślić te aspekty pracy Kolbusza.
