Movie poster for Agnieszka Elbanowska’s documentary, “The First Pole on Mars,” for which she wrote the screenplay and directed. The film’s protagonist, 68-year old Kazimierz Błaszczak, has not only installed a 13m diameter telescope in Ciszęcin, his town in the Wieruszowski district, but also applied to the Mars One programme, in which he has succeeded in several stages. If he’s able to win the contest, he will become the first human in the history of the species to land on another planet and never go back to Earth.
