Dusza (The Soul) by I. L. Peretz is a book of short stories written in Yiddish in the early 20th century. It is the first of a series of books compiled with the intention of introducing often forgotten Polish-Jewish authors to a younger audience. It was designed in pocket size with an abstract hand-drawn cover illustration that sets up a flexible system for future books. The color palette consists of a dark and subtle shade combined with a neon hue for a modern feel and better stand out in bookstores. The type family chosen for the project is Quercus Ten by František Štorm – a modern book face with a genuinely Eastern European feel.
Dusza to zbiór opowiadać napisanych w Jidisz na początku XX wieku przez Icchaka Pereca. Pomyślany jako pierwszy tom z serii książek przypominających żydowskich autorów młodszemu pokoleniu. Książka zaprojektowana w kieszonkowym “pingwinowym” formacie. Ręcznie ilustrowana okładka jest abstrakcyjna, wykorzystuje system z którego mogą korzystać następne książki serii. Dwa odcienie zieleni – stonowany i neonowy – zapewniają, że książka wyróżnia się na półce w księgarni. Użyte fonty to Quercus Ten autorstwa Františka Štorma.
