The book accompanying the exhibition under the same title is the first publication to review all aspects of the activity of Julian Antoniszczak – a co-founder of the legendary Animated Film Studio in Cracow, a director of experimental animated films, a musician and inventor. The authors of articles in this publication explore not only the phenomenon of Antonisz’s films, but also his language, music and construction activities in building the machines through which he was able to develop techniques of making non-camera films. In the book are to be found both texts written by those engaged in the conservation of Antonisz’s films and machines, and also by the artist’s daughters, Malwina and Sabina Antoniszczak. The publication is richly illustrated, with over 500 photos, fully depicting the artist’s environment and methods of working, incorporating both contemporary documentation of his studio and private photographs from the family album. The book is accompanied by a DVD with a selection of 16 of Julian Antonisz’s films.
Książka towarzysząca wystawie pod tym samym tytułem to pierwsza przekrojowa publikacja podsumowująca wszystkie dziedziny działalności Juliana Antoniszczaka – współzałożyciela legendarnego Studia Filmów Animowanych w Krakowie, reżysera eksperymentalnych animacji, muzyka i wynalazcy. Autorzy artykułów analizują nie tylko fenomen filmów Antonisza, ale także jego język, muzykę oraz działalność konstruktorską, dzięki której rozwinął technikę robienia filmów non-camerowych. W książce znalazły się również teksty napisane przez konserwatorki filmów i maszyn Antonisza oraz córki artysty, Malwinę i Sabinę Antoniszczak. Publikacja zawiera bardzo bogaty materiał ilustracyjny (ponad 500 zdjęć), pokazujący warsztat artysty, w tym współczesną dokumentację jego pracowni, oraz zdjęcia prywatne z archiwum rodzinnego. Do książki dołączona jest płyta DVD z wyborem 16 filmów Juliana Antonisza.
