The album HITTE design is a graduation project. Hitte in Dutch means heat, while songs are named after different cities like Berlin, Antwerpen, Cadzand and Eindhoven. Defining the graphical vibe of the album designer wanted to get through building a specific, metaphor-based collage of geometric figures. The analog layers in the background are rich in noises and kind of ‘dirt’, which is reflecting urban dust. All these elements relate also to the experimental-electronic music.
As the author says: “In the covers of singles I wanted to refer to the characteristic symbols of cities, their architecture and general associations that came to my mind when I was thinking about these cities. In the CD package for EP I decided to use a holographic foil, which in my opinion perfectly illustrates the mirage phenomenon that often occurs during the heat. At the same time this foil in dynamic way is enriching the colors of package. Illustration on the vinyl package is built from various elements of single covers. Transparent vinyl refers to the prism and clear summer air.”
Album HITTE to projekt dyplomowy. Hitte w języku niderlandzkim oznacza ciepło, podczas gdy utwory są nazwane wg różnych miastach, takich jak Berlin, Antwerpia, Cadzand i Eindhoven. Projektantka buduje klimat projektu poprzez budowanie metafory opartej o kolaż figur geometrycznych. Warstwy analogowe w tle są bogate w dźwięki i swojego rodzaju brud, który odzwierciedla kurz miejski. Wszystkie te elementy odnoszą się również do muzyki eksperymentalnej, elektronicznej.
Jak mówi autorka: “Chciałem odnieść się do charakterystycznych symboli miast, ich architektury i ogólnych skojarzeń, które przyszły mi do głowy, kiedy myślałem o nich. W opakowaniu CD postanowiłem użyć folii holograficznej, która moim zdaniem doskonale ilustruje zjawisko mirażu, które często występuje podczas upału. Jednocześnie ta folia w dynamiczny sposób wzbogaca kolory opakowania. Ilustracja na opakowaniu winylu jest zbudowany z różnych elementów pojedynczych okładek. Przejrzystość winylu odnosi się do pryzmatu i jasnego letniego powietrza.”
