“Make your city a better place to live” is a project created with the support of the Franco-German Fund, created in the 40th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, Goethe-Institut and the French Institute in Cracow. Within the project the students of five schools - the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and Krakow,Cracow Pedagogical University Ecole Superieure d’Art. et Design in Saint-Etienne and the Bauhaus University in Weimar had the opportunity to address the issues of environmentally-friendly and social design.
The aim of the design was to the two most important objectives of the project:the interest of public spaces and green design. The answer to the first assumption is the logo of the project referring to the form of signpost. The basic form, containing the name of the exhibition, could be supplemented by signs directing to the partner institutions involved in the project. While the response to the problem of ecology was a catalogue printed on recycled paper, with the cover generated in the process of offset printing and its waste production.
„Make your city a better place to live” to projekt powstały dzięki wsparciu Funduszu Francusko-Niemieckiego utworzonego w 40. rocznicę traktatu Elizejskiego, Goethe-Institut i Instytutu francuskiego w Krakowie. W ramach projektu studenci pięciu szkół – Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Katowicach i Krakowie, Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie Ecole Supérieure d’Art. et Design w Saint-Etienne oraz Bauhaus Universität w Weimarze mieli możliwość zmierzenia się z zagadnieniami projektowania proekologicznego i prospołecznego.
Założeniem projektowym było oddanie wyrazi zainteresowania przestrzenią publiczną i projektowaniem proekologicznym. Odpowiedzią na pierwsze założenie jest logotyp projektu nawiązujący do formy drogowskazu. Podstawowa forma, zawierająca nazwę wystawy, mogła być uzupełniana drogowskazami kierującymi do uczelni partnerskich biorących udział w projekcie, co zostało wykorzystane jako element kierujący po wystawie. Natomiast odpowiedzią na problem ekologii był katalog wydrukowany na papierze makulaturowych, z obwolutą powstałą z tzw. „arkuszy rozbiegowych” powstałych w procesie druku offsetowego, które są odpadami produkcyjnymi.
